Spaghetti w meatballs

It was a sunny Tuesday. I woke up especially on time because I was going for my undang computer exam. After that I went home straight, dinner time was near. Without hesitation I took over the kitchen all to myself. I wanted to cook something chinese for dinner, but no, I did the simpliest western dish, which is the spaghetti bolognese. That was nothing new for me, so I decided to try out making some beef meatballs. Learning this can save so much of my time and money because I don't always have to crave for Ikea meatballs, which are getting from bad to worse in terms of price and taste, lately.

Just a few of the ingredients used. 

You can use angel hair, but I preferred the ordinary pasta. 

That was the spaghetti. Now for the meatballs, its really simple, its basically mixing and rolling them into balls and getting real dirty! I’ll go thru briefly, for meatballs:

In a bowl, mix:
-marinated minced beef (w salt and pepper etc)
-finely chopped shallots
-torn bread piceces soaked in milk for 5mins

Mix thoroughly w hands, roll them into balls of any size to your liking. Refrigerate for 10mins before frying.

Fresh minced beef, I used 400gm for meatballs

Quick chop thru the shallots. 

Turned out to be nearly 30+ meatballs of this size.

Pan fry till meat is cooked.

So that's for the meatballs. For the sauce, its too simple I don't think its necessary to share it here. Anyway I'll do a brief one. I used:

-minced beef, marinated
-canned tomatoes, paste like

-roughly chopped white onions

-additional of sliced tomatoes 

-season w oregano

-salt & pepper (the usual stuff lah)

Done! Can't really see the meatballs here.

Looks dry because I haven't finish topping w sauce yet. 

Mmmmmm, looks good anot? :P Anyway I loved it, especially the meatballs. One meatball can be divided into 3 bites, while Ikea's meatball is just ONE BITE NO MORE! Hahaha, this is totally more value for money. The shallots in them tasted really good and appetizing! So far I realised my mistake was at the sauce part, I should have simmered longer to enhance the taste. Yay, bye bye! :)

Happy Winter Solstice everyone! It's time to reunite w your family and enjoy eating tangyuans. So I perhaps having a family dinner on this festive day is a tradition among the chinese families. Well, I had mine too, at my grandma's place.

It's really good to dine w the uncles and aunties and couzies again. It's even more exciting to eat my grandma's home cooked food. But sadly eating is no longer fun when you eat unsafely.

Unfornately, my uncle who came late found some housefly faeces (why so scientific) on the plate of roasted duck! And my aunt who helped w the cooking earlier in the evening said the duck was the first dish to be served and its most probably not well covered. SO THE FLYS ATTACKED! *Pew boom pew boom booot*

Everyone in the house was shocked to death because we have all eaten, so full and so unaware...including me. Come to think of it, I thank God that I was being a lil picky and I went for the breast meat which is hidden underneath.

I thank God again that I still have zero symtoms of diarrhoea or nausea after 6 hours, which is now. I'm blogging on my phone lying on my bed like a boss. Ok that was too much of elaboration. However I dont know about others like my grandma and my aunties. God can you hear my prayers I want everyone to be safe and well, please.

I was and still am freaking out because apparently the adults said maggots will start breeding in you after that. I don't have any experience in this but my dad had. It can be deadly.

I pray for peace in my family as well as everyone out there. Amen.

First DIY hair dye experience

The title says it all. Did a simple ombre on my hair. Totally an amateur so it was a great time learning on my own.

You might be thinking I did the most common ombre, which is the blonde type but no I went for red, bright red. I gotta admit red is my favorite color!

So I bought red dye, small bottle of bleach and brush for RM39.90. Quite reasonable. And it turned out to be even more worthy because I actually used only a quarter of them so I have a lot more extra for next usage. So your question must be where did I get the stuff? K CARE SHOP. Familiar? Outlets at ss2 and taman megah ;)

Since my hair is layered so I went out of the box and dyed the bottom layer red and lightly bleached the tip of the second layer.

Whats the most heartbreaking thing now? I have to cut it off in a few weeks time. Hahaha :(

Coffee

Coffee,

This is because,
there are many types of coffee,
cuppacino, espresso or even frappé.
Not just that,
we also have kopi o, nescafe tarik, or even neslo surprisingly.

Now, I wanna share a picha of coffee not tea,
I was at Subang Jaya's Mcd after dinner you see.
I went there for the free wifi actually,
but the waiter told me the wifi burnt already.
Sadly,
I decided to order two cups of 8oz coffee.
One is flat white,
while the other is americano wheeeeee.
Initially I had no idea how the taste would be,
after trying I realised americano was a waste of money.
Instead,
flat white was surprisingly yummy :D

I named this No Title because there's no highlights or important topics in this post. I noticed I always blog late night after 12am. Sucks to be me :P

Tomorrow's Saturday and im so gonna make it count! Well I just watched running man on channel 395 w my sis just now. Hahaha it was really funny and entertaining! Me and K-shows dont used to go well together but now its fine. While everyone around me is watching The Heirs, I'm not watching at all because I don't have unifi or unlimited data service. Hence, watching looong videos like drama won't happen in my house D: One episode of drama can 'eat' all my data and my whole family suffers! LOL

I look forward to tomorrow because I think my fam is going to Taman Tun park or something. Later on we're gonna make  chicken pie oh yeah your saliva's coming out! My mum was so inspired after VBS at FCT. Tomorrow is gonna be good cause I know I'll gain new knowledge on making pies :) Ohhhh tomorrow night got steamboat dinner yayerz! Eh nooo wait. I have to skip church because of that. ARGH

What else do I look forward to? Monday! Heading to Elaine's place. I'm gonna turn her house upside down man. Haha and I wanted to go hands on so I suggested to cook something for lunch! Otherwise I think we'll most prob order pizza or eat instant noodles. No way man. Enough of those. I'm gonna bring camera in a hope of getting to make some short videos and grab a few shots.

Ah! Samantha Teoh's back from Aussie for vacation I guess and I think we're going for movie! I suggested horror but she refused APALAH NI ! I dont care if shes gonna pee in her pants or whateva haha. 

Actually the only thing I'm longing for now is to go to the seaside. I so unsatisfied w my sunrise shot couple of months ago at Kuantan. I want another visit to any beach again this holiday but I doubt I can 'cause its so last minute *sigh* plus the rain has been really bad recently. I perhaps its the monsun season now so no one will go to the beach HAHHA.

Instead of sharing my daybreak picha I'll share the picha I took in the evening last month at digital mall parking space. Quality very low cause I took w my phone camera so forgive me. Have a nice day ciao.

Craziness in class

Class trip to Putrajaya!

Hi. The last time I went for a school vacation trip was during standard six, if i'm not mistaken. Anyway, this ain't a long-winded update. Instead I decided to make a short video out of the photos I've taken thru out the trip. Sadly I had problems inserting background music in it. *sigh*

It looks pretty much like a boring and dull school trip but I admit it was a great time for bonding among ourselves.

Farewell Puan Tang!

You may not know her, but if you get her as your teacher, you are blessed. Its a great loss for us that Pn Tang is retiring. Specifically my class, we have lost a great biology teacher. We are hung in the air now. Stuck between form 4 and form 5. Who's gonna teach us next year? Sigh.. 

Sharing Puan Tang's quote here, in the picture above. It was her last advice for us during her last bio class with us. I don't know what to say now. But definitely, thank you Pn Tang :) 

I don't wanna grow up!

Yesterday I was form 1 and tomorrow I'm gonna be form 5 already. Noooooo!!! I'm not ready for this. Life is gonna be so stressful next year. Its gonna be a big battle w SPM. But its okay, challenge me!
Im feeling nostalgic for the times during form 1 and 2 when I can just dont give a damn about my studies. But looking back, I realise how much I've grown thru these years mentally physically and all. All thanks to pmr, otherwise I'll still be fooling around in school.
I guess I'm not just afraid of SPM, but also the fact that I'm leaving school soon. I know I sound exaggerating because I still have like one year plus before leaving. But trust me, I think next year is gonna pass by very quickly because its our busiest year out of all 5.

I wanna appreciate what I have now. Its easier said than done, tho.

Finals 2013

Another two weeks left for finals. Or I shall say 4 days, 8 papers and 4 subjects left. At the starting of this week I was still doubting if I could survive Bio 3, Physics 3, as well as the killer: Additional Maths. Well time indeed flies and I'm done w all of them! Wow!
I have no idea how did my brain twist so fast during Add maths paper. Thank God for giving me peace. Steady! hah. Speaking of that I absolutely didn't regret my decision of stopping revision, sleep early and just yolo add maths. Because I believe I can and I know myself best! sleep deprivation is definitely gonna affect me. After the exams I'm pretty amazed on how I managed to finish on time but also pissed on the  number of mistakes that shouldn't be made! How careless of me! How to face my tuition teacher? :/
I wanna quote this "There's is no such thing as being careless." Well thats what my teacher always tell me again and again. With that I've learnt to be extra careful in my work. Thank you Ms Ong for being such an awesome addmaths teacher. I've learnt to love addmaths since the first day. It's not that difficult after all. Honestly. Instead I take it as a challenge.
Apart from that, at this moment, I'm here blogging when I should be studying sejarah. Im such a failure when it comes to sejarah. I can remember any other subjects but sejarah is an exception. It's just not gonna work well w me. Urgh. why. I needa study harder than this. yes. i. must. do. this. thaaaang.
Aaaaah, after exams I've got tons of things to do! Well first of all will be... hunt for good food. kiddings :P ciao

Lantern Festival

OH HALO EVERYBODEY!
Ah, I missed blogger. I have lots of thoughts and stuff to share but sad to say I don't have the time.
So today's a cozy Saturday. Cloudy and wet evening. And guess what, I ended up at Citta Mall for Lantern Festival! Well, I don't fancy lanterns but they are indeed something to admire when they are lit up.

So basically there's this Buddhist Gem collaborating w Citta Mall to hold this Lantern Festival event consisting of Lantern Parade and Lion dance, mainly. It wasn't much a looked-forward-to event, but  I didn't regret going tho.

The cool thing about it will be, there's free lanterns and mooncakes! Well speaking of that, I guess 3 quarter of the people there were lured by the free stuff. I'm not surprised tho. Malaysians are always enticed by free stuff.

Inspiration

After 3 years and I'm back on blogger, again! WHAT? Man, I couldn't believe it, too. I was inspired by I-dont-know-what-is-it and I just had the urge to share some thoughts, especially sharing photographs. Personally, when I read a blog, I tend to scroll down and skip those long winded posts, and straight to the photographs! Ahh, I love photos. Taking photos is a great pleasure. I'm enthused for them. It's amazing how much info a picture can tell. Alright,  lets not beat around the bush. I shall share about what I did yesterday.

ROTARY DINNER 2013

Basically, this is an annual dinner organised by the Rotary Club of Subang. To be specific, this is an Installation Dinner. As an Interactor, I'm really thankful and contented to be given an opportunity to attend this event. 

There are 5 Interact Clubs under Rotary Club of Subang, and one of them is Taman SEA! You might be wondering why is our school one of them, knowing that our school is like miles away from Subang. Hmm, I dont know why too. 

Okay, you must be getting confused on what on earth is Rotary and what does it have to do with Interact. In this entire club, it is divided into three parts. Rotary, Rotaract, Interact.
Interact: age 18 and below

Rotaract: age 18 to age 30

Rotary: 30 and above, I guess? 

It's simple. Its just like Leo Club, and the Lions Club. 

Since its called Rotary Dinner, there was a hell lot of adults there. I suppose 97% of them are adults. HAHA. I was feeling like a kid there, so ignorant, so lost. But when there's food, I'm like a lost kid being found. What on earth was I saying!

This event was definitely an eye-opener.  I met so many people, especially youngsters from Rotaract. They were so cool. Before leaving the dinner, they were like: "Are you guys driving home or?"

....can't believe we looked so old, to them. hahahah
